SUMMARY:Pulse FM Downtown Summer Series Presents Switchfoot with Colton Dixon
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row row_height_percent=”0″ override_padding=”yes” h_padding=”2″ top_padding=”2″ bottom_padding=”4″ overlay_alpha=”50″ gutter_size=”3″ column_width_percent=”100″ shift_y=”0″ z_index=”0″ uncode_shortcode_id=”197393″][vc_column column_width_percent=”100″ gutter_size=”3″ overlay_alpha=”50″ shift_x=”0″ shift_y=”0″ shift_y_down=”0″ z_index=”0″ medium_width=”0″ mobile_width=”0″ width=”1/1″ uncode_shortcode_id=”200278″][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=”339637″]Welcome to the Annual Pulse FM Downtown Summer Concert Series! Join us in May and June for the best in Christian music at the Morris Performing Arts Center in downtown South Bend. \nSwitchfoot After 10 albums\, multiple hit singles\, millions of records sold\, a GRAMMY Award and 20 years of touring\, in late 2017\, SWITCHFOOT put the brakes on. The successful release and tour for their most recent album\, WHERE THE LIGHT SHINES THROUGH had concluded\, and the San Diego-based quintet decided to take a long deserved\, much needed hiatus. Their goals? To think on difficult\, important questions about the band and themselves personally\, including: “Why are we doing this?” The answers weren’t long in coming and are musically evident in the 14 remarkable songs that make up NATIVE TONGUE\, a creative juggernaut spawned by singer Jon Foreman’s realization that the answer to “why?” was to “pursue joy.” Joy became the paramount goal in his life and music. “Joy is an incredible motivator\,” says Jon: “It’s only to be found in the moment\, not in the past or future. That’s what music is to us: The ever-present joy of the ever-present now.” During the hiatus\, Jon’s positive immediacy inspired songs that he had to get out. Creative openness without a goal resulted in an electric\, wide-ranging collection. “There was no ‘should’ or ‘ought.’ It was a beautiful freedom. Songs we wrote didn’t have to turn into anything\, as long as we were pursuing joy. That’s where this record was born.” The results of that pursuit include the infectious\, title track; the get-your-lighters out\, sway-along “ALL I NEED”; and the edgy excellence of “VOICES.” Then there’s a trippily wonderful departure in the Beatles-esque “DIG NEW STREAMS\,” a tune drummer Chad Butler calls an “odyssey. It breaks so many rules: Structure\, tempo\, arrangement\, style. I love that.” They are back better than ever and it shows in 2022. \nColton Dixon Colton Dixon quickly became a household name in 2012 when he was voted a fan favorite and made it to the top seven on Season 11 of Fox’s hit show AMERICAN IDOL. His career has been on the fast track ever since\, now boasting over 100 million streams across all platforms. Dixon’s 2013 debut\, A Messenger\, set the record for biggest first-week sales by a new solo Christian act. Dixon’s sophomore effort Anchor included the most played Hot AC single of 2014\, “More Of You\,” as well as fourth consecutive No. 1 “Through All of It.” His third studio album Identity included the top 5 single “All That Matters.” He has won two Dove Awards and received back-to-back K-LOVE Fan Award nominations for Male Artist of the Year. Following a three-year break\, he returns with a new sound informed by true experiences. Now signed to Atlantic Records\, the history-making singer\, songwriter\, and producer channels such growth into new single\, “Miracles.”[/vc_column_text][vc_button button_color=”accent” size=”btn-lg” border_animation=”btn-ripple-in” custom_typo=”yes” font_family=”font-762333″ font_weight=”100″ text_transform=”uppercase” border_width=”0″ link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.etix.com%2Fticket%2Fe%2F1025034%2Fpulse-downtown-concert-series–south-bend-morris-performing-arts-center” button_color_type=”uncode-palette” uncode_shortcode_id=”112018″]Buy Tickets Now[/vc_button][/vc_column][/vc_row]

DESCRIPTION:[vc_row row_height_percent=”0″ override_padding=”yes” h_padding=”0″ top_padding=”2″ bottom_padding=”4″ overlay_alpha=”50″ gutter_size=”3″ column_width_percent=”100″ shift_y=”0″ z_index=”0″ uncode_shortcode_id=”164610″ shape_dividers=””][vc_column column_width_percent=”100″ gutter_size=”3″ overlay_alpha=”50″ shift_x=”0″ shift_y=”0″ shift_y_down=”0″ z_index=”0″ medium_width=”0″ mobile_width=”0″ width=”1/1″ uncode_shortcode_id=”200278″][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=”129813″]Leanne knew at the age of 5 that she wanted to be a comedian\, but being born and raised in Middle Tennessee in a farming community of 500 people\, she didn’t know how in the world it was going to happen. She grew up loving comedy and her very funny and encouraging mother\, Lucille\, allowed her to skip kindergarten to stay home and watch Hollywood Squares and Match Game. At age 10\, after “killing” in the 4-H talent show\, she was bitten by the performance bug. \nAfter graduating from high school\, Leanne was feeling the lure of Hollywood\, but the idea of moving was unheard of and too daunting for a country girl who had never been away from home\, so she enrolled in college at The University of Tennessee\, where she graduated (by the skin of her teeth) with a degree in Child and Family Studies. Her greatest desire in life was to be a mother. She married her husband Chuck and they moved to Bean Station\, TN in the beautiful foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Chuck owned a mobile home refurbishing business and Leanne worked with him…for a very short time. Chuck liked to boss and Leanne wasn’t one to be bossed\, so she decided to get pregnant instead! \nAfter having her first baby\, she was in absolute heaven\, but she still had a tug in her heart to do stand-up. To make a little spending money\, Leanne started selling jewelry at home parties. She was supposed to talk about the jewelry but instead talked about breastfeeding\, hemorrhoids and being a mama. Women thought she was funny\, somebody peed on a couch and before she knew it she was booked out a year in advance. The company saw what was happening and asked her to speak at their sales rallies. It was there that women started saying\, “you need to do stand up!” That gave Leanne the courage to really go for it! \nHer husband sold his business and went to work for a large company that took them to San Antonio. Leanne finally had access to comedy clubs and things quickly started to happen. She appeared on The View’s “Hilarious Housewives” segment\, Nick at Nite’s Funniest Mom and has toured with the Southern Fried Chicks. Leanne continued to work theaters\, clubs and corporate events while raising three children with her husband back in Tennessee\, which she still calls home. \nLeanne’s storied career has landed her on stage at the Montreal Comedy Festival and has brought her development deals for her own sitcom with ABC and Warner Brothers\, writer/producer Matt Williams (“Rosanne” and “Home Improvement”)\,TV Land and currently with Sony Television. I guess you could say she’s the Mrs. Maisel of Appalachia! \nClips from Leanne’s Dry Bar Comedy Special “So Yummy” garnered over 50 million views and opened her up to a whole new audience. Her fan base continued to grow when she shared heartfelt messages and Jell-O salad recipes from her back porch during the pandemic\, and assured people that “everything’s gonna be alright.” Her relatability makes everyone feel as if she’s talking directly to them! \nNow after 22 years in comedy\, Leanne is embarking on her 100-city Big Panty Tour across the U.S. with Outback Presents. Now that her children are grown\, Leanne is so grateful to have this opportunity at this time in her life.
