Bag Check
The Morris Performing Arts Center ensures the safety of our patrons and employees when visiting or working in our theater. As of March 9, 2018, bags of any kind are subject to inspection prior to admission. We acknowledge that this procedure may cause some inconvenience, but hope these are minor in comparison to increased safety. As you enter the building to have your ticket scanned, please be prepared to have your bag inspected.
Prohibited items include:
Weapons and other items (as determined by security personnel) that could potentially cause harm
Oversize purses or bags, backpacks, or backpack style purses
Chemical weapons such as mace and pepper spray
Professional grade cameras with detachable lenses or laser pointers, or professional grade audio/video recording devices
Liquor, food or beverages
Smoking within the theater. State law prohibits smoking at the Morris PAC and federal law prohibits ignition of an open flame in a National Historic Landmark.
The following items may be subject to search but will be allowed in the theater:
- Small purses or bags
- Prescription medicines and devices
Guests with prohibited articles will be turned away at the entrances to return items to their vehicle or to dispose of them. No storage or “check-in area” will be provided. *Venue Management reserves the right to deny any item it deems to be a safety hazard or distraction for guests.
