The Morris Performing Arts Center presents Fridays by the Fountain on the Jon R. Hunt Plaza, in front of the Morris Theater, each summer between the months of June and August. The concert series traditionally runs every other Friday and features live entertainment from local Blues, Jazz, Rock, Folk, and Country bands. The concerts are free and open to the public and run from 11:45 AM – 1:15 PM. Food vendors are available and they offer a variety of lunchtime favorites including pizza, sandwiches, salads and pasta, or you may choose to bring your own. Tables are set in and around the plaza or bring your own blanket and chair!

The Mr. Z band has been winning over live audiences of all age groups for over 5 years. The band’s acoustic sound can range from soft background music to loud dance and party music based on the venue and audience. They started as a 3 piece acoustic act that now has a total of 6 possible musicians at any given time.

The Mr. Z band was formed in their basement and were a product of late night sing along and jam sessions. Their roots are mainly in Classic Rock, Reggae, and some Hip Hop.

Mr. Z does not have predetermined set lists before their shows. They gauge the crowd participation and interest and then determine what songs to play. They look forward to bringing a party to the plaza!
